 Looking for a sassy touch? Adding a silk top to a black bottom is the way to go. Try to match this outfit with a vintage necklace from Vintage Vixen for the Chanel-like look. 

Although I am usually not much of a "pink person," this bright pink skirt can be matched with almost any color, even black (without resembling hot topic)... 

Right now, Anthropologie has an amazing option.

At first, I was a hesitant adopter of the cape trend. However, after buying this green and grey jacket, I will recommend it to any and everyone. Going into spring, this is the perfect weight and coverage to throw over a tee or tank. Check out this cape that is currently on sale at Nordstrom's. 

With the recent reacquaintance of denim as a top, I have loved the light wash button-up as a perfect layering piece. Try this Urban Outfitter's version for this upcoming spring.

With all of the bold prints out there this season, try mixing two opposite prints to make an outfit of your own. However, your best bet would be to mix bright and neutral colored prints. Good luck!

 An easy way to make a simple outfit standout is by adding a bright, multicolored scarf. Along with warming you up, it also brings out your unique edge. 

With spring break on everyone's mind, a great way to add style to a basic swim suit is by sporting a trendy hat. Whether its floppy or a fedora, this hat will save you from a burnt face.

As we move away from the hibernation of winter and into the beginnings of spring, it is time to revive our wardrobes with color, flounce, and a little pep in our steps.  Think outside the normal tailoring and take a plunge in the vibrant hues of spring.  Here are some of my favorite new trends for Spring 2012.

Loving this look, but not realistic for Seattle springs. Pair the top with full length or cigarette jeans for a more temperature appropriate style.

These days, everyone and their mother owns a fur vest. Take this idea to the next level by wearing a FAUX fur jacket. This piece can seamlessly be worn from day to night.

Sometimes the idea of getting dressed up for a night on the town doesn't sound too appealing...This cropped, off-the-shoulder sweater solves every issue of wanting to look fashionable, while being comfortable.

Matching tights or leggings under this "skirt-like-short," will give your overall look a fun flare---as well as keeping your legs warm for the winter season.

As a proud owner of sweater leggings, I can tell you that they will transform your outfit into the perfect "snow-bunny" look, especially when matched with an over-sized sweater. 

H & M Sweater and Vintage Blouse

Although this may seem similar to an outfit worn by Cher in the 90's Clueless movie, I foresee this layering of a blouse and cropped sweater being a popular trend for 2012. There are many ways in which this look could go haywire, so make sure the blouse is a perfect fit and that the sweater is cropped above the hip .

For the handful of sunny days we will see this winter, try to rev up your outfit with these over-sized sunglasses.

Conversely, try this umbrella for the many rainy days we will see this winter. This umbrella allows people to have a black umbrella, without being solely black.
